Speed skating open house at Tribute Communities Centre August 26, 2017

The Durham Speed Skating Club will be hosting an free Open House for anyone who wants to try the sport out on Saturday, August 26 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at the Tribute Communities Centre (formerly GM Centre) in Oshawa,
99 Athol St E, Oshawa, ON L1H 1J8.  Come to Ice pad 2.

The club will provide the skates, so all you need to bring are a helmet and gloves, although you can also bring a neck guard, shin guards, knee pads and goggles/protective glasses if available.

Head coach Darryl Rowsell and other club coaches and skaters will be there to provide instructions and answer any questions you may have.

The Durham Speed Skating Club has been operating in Oshawa since 2005 and produced at least one provincial champion every year between 2008 and 2016.

Canada has won 35 medals in speed skating at the Olympics, more than any other sport at the Winter Games.

E-mail to book your spot with the name of the skater, shoe size and age. There will be two sessions to choose from, beginning at 10 a.m. and 12 noon.
